When we realised that adults were ordering our toddler fried rice for themselves, we thought we'd better come up with a grown-up version. This is it. It's delicious as an accompaniment but makes a great dinner on its own - particularly good to zap in the microwave when you arrive home late, tired and hungry.

We steam the rice until fluffy and mix it with cooked onions, garlic, carrots and crispy bacon.  The rice is then flavoured with soy and hoisin sauces, Shaoxing wine and sesame oil before folding through pops of green edamame.
