Beef bolognese

Beef bolognese

Beef bolognese

The most all-round, useful and generally pleasing thing to have in the freezer, - who doesn’t love a spag bol? Our Bolognese is a classic beef ragu, relying on gentle, slow cooking to bring out the inherent sweetness of its carrot, onion and celery soffrito base, then a long simmer with tomatoes, herbs and red wine till it's thick and rich. Perfect over pasta, polenta or gnocchi.

To Serve

Serve with any sort of pasta, polenta or gnocchi, a generous shower of grated Parmesan and a green salad.

Ingredients

Minced beef (40%), crushed tomatoes (tomato puree, citric acid), onion, carrot, celery, red wine (sulphites), veal stock (veal bones, chicken bones, tomatoes, onions, veal meat, carrots, tomato paste, celery, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorns), tomato paste, garlic, olive oil, salt, parsley, thyme, bay leaves

* We don’t add preservatives or additives to our meals – we cook with the same real ingredients you would find in your home fridge and pantry. Some of these household ingredients do contain sub-ingredients, for example Dijon mustard contains sulphites and crushed tomatoes contain citric acid. We try to find products with as few additives as possible and always list every ingredient in our meals, both here and on the label.
