Navarin of lamb with kipfler potatoes

A classic French braise of sweet diced lamb shoulder, cooked gently in white wine, chicken stock and crushed tomatoes, and flavoured with thyme, rosemary and Dijon mustard. Waxy kipfler potatoes, batons of carrots and green beans round out the dish, making it a true meal-in-a-bowl that manages to be hearty without heaviness. Serve with a sharp green salad and a warmed baguette. 

To Serve

This has the lot: meat, vegetables – even potatoes! So you could easily dish it up just with some warm baguette for dunking, and maybe a salad to finish the meal in the French fashion. But feel free to double up on the spuds and serve it with mash or a gratin; or spooned over wide, buttered noodles.
