How We Make It

This is a puff-pastry-topped pie with a crisp golden lid hiding beef and vegies - roasted carrots, celery and peas. The veg are cooked down with onions and garlic before slowly braising the beef with homemade veal stock, tomatoes and extra flavour from thyme and rosemary.

Ingredients

Beef (22%), crushed tomatoes (tomato puree, citric acid), puff pastry (12%) (butter (milk), wheat flour, vinegar, salt, water), carrot (10%), potato (9%), celery (9%), onion (7%), peas (6%), water, tomato paste, veal stock (veal bones, chicken bones, tomatoes, onions, veal meat, carrots, tomato paste, celery, garlic, bay leaves and peppercorns), olive oil, parsley, salt, garlic, rosemary, thyme

Allergens

Does contain: gluten, milk, wheat

May contain traces of: crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, molluscs, peanuts, sesame, soy, sulphites, tree nuts

Goes With...

Buttered mash potato or crusty bread would be good with the pie's delicious gravy. There are plenty of vegetables in the pie but a nice, sharp salad is always welcome with pastry.
