Boeuf Bourguignon

Boeuf Bourguignon

Boeuf Bourguignon

Easier done than said (ha!), this French classic of beef braised in red wine and veal stock finished with caramelised onions, lardons of bacon and button mushrooms is the most elegant of winter warmers, as fit for a dinner party with a pomme puree (that’d be mash when it’s at home, then) and green beans as mid week with noodles or a baked potato and salad.

To Serve

Serve with buttered mash, baked potatoes or noodles, with a mixed leaf salad dressed in olive oil and lemon juice to follow or just cooked green beans, tossed with butter and slivered almonds.

Ingredients

Beef (37%), onion, red wine (sulphites), carrot, mushrooms, bacon (pork 97%, salt, mineral salt (450), sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, water), tomato paste, garlic, olive oil, salt, thyme, bay leaves

* We don’t add preservatives or additives to our meals – we cook with the same real ingredients you would find in your home fridge and pantry. Some of these household ingredients do contain sub-ingredients, for example Dijon mustard contains sulphites and crushed tomatoes contain citric acid. We try to find products with as few additives as possible and always list every ingredient in our meals, both here and on the label.
