Prep, Cook & Serve

Small:

Remove plastic film and preheat oven (FF) to 200C. DEFROSTED: cook for approximately 40 minutes or until golden across the top. FROZEN: cook for approximately 55 minutes or until golden across the top. ESSENTIAL: allow to rest for 10 minutes to firm up otherwise it will be sloppy! Serve with a green salad. Ovens vary, please adjust cooking times if necessary.

Large:

Remove plastic film and preheat oven (FF) to 200C. DEFROSTED: cook for approximately 60 minutes or until golden across the top. FROZEN: cook for approximately 70 minutes or until golden across the top. ESSENTIAL: allow to rest for 10 minutes to firm up otherwise it will be sloppy! Serve with a green salad. Ovens vary, please adjust cooking times if necessary.

Extra Large:

Remove plastic film and preheat oven (FF) to 200C. DEFROSTED: cook for approximately 65 minutes or till golden across the top. FROZEN: cook for approximately 70-75 minutes or till golden across the top. ESSENTIAL: allow to rest for 10 minutes to firm up otherwise it will be sloppy! Serve with a green salad and garlic bread. Ovens vary, please adjust cooking times if necessary.

How We Make It

The heart of a great lasagne is its meat sauce. We start by browning beef mince then cooking it very gently over four hours with a soffritto of carrots, celery, onion and garlic, a splash of red wine and crushed tomatoes, bay leaves and thyme. Once the sauce is rich and thick, we layer it between sheets of fresh pasta, sprinkling with mozzarella as we go, before smoothing over a final layer of bechamel sauce enriched with grated Parmesan.

Goes With...

Serve with a salad of mixed green leaves or rocket and Parmesan. If feeding hungry teens, you might want to supply some crusty sourdough on the side, too.

    Yummy béchamel sauce

    Really creamy béchamel sauce makes it!

    Huge portion if you get the largest size. Feeds two adults and two kids for 3 meals, easy for little ones to feed themselves as it holds its shape!

    This is the one that all the family insists I get more of.

    So, I get the biggest one available, and still it is hardly enough.

    Just takes so much time to do ones own ragu and bechamel, how wonderful that someone else can do it to such a perfect standard.
