Boscaiola sauce for pasta

Boscaiola sauce for pasta

A kinda old-school pasta sauce (bacon and mushroom with sweet green peas and, hang on, is that a splash of cream?) that reminds us just how simply yummy the classics can be. Toss it through a wide ribbon pasta, dish it up with a salad of bitter greens to complement the creamy sauce and watch it get wolfed down.

To Serve

This kind of sauce works well with a wider ribbon pasta, like fettucine or pappardelle, but there would be no shame in serving it with a chunky shape like penne or fusilli. A colourful vegetable gnocchi like pumpkin or spinach would also be delicious. Whatever the carb of choice, finish with some extra Parmesan, a good grind of pepper and serve a salad on the side, ideally with some bitter leaves like radicchio or endive into the mix.

Ingredients

We don't add preservatives or additives to our meals - we cook with real ingredients, just like you would at home. We do occasionally use kitchen pantry staples that include some additives. For example, tomato sauce contains acetic and critic acid.

Cream (milk), mushroom (17%), bacon (14%) (pork 97%, salt, mineral salt (450), sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, water), onion, peas, water, chicken stock (water, free range chicken bones, onions, carrot, celery and bay leaves), parmesan cheese (milk, salt, cultures, non-animal rennet), olive oil, butter (cream (milk)), dijon mustard (sulphites), garlic, parsley, plain flour (wheat), thyme, salt

    Delicious!

We ordered these meals after I’d just had a baby and they were a lifesaver. The pasta sauce was delicious and made it so easy to prepare wholesome food when we were low on time.

    Very Italiano

Delicious and creamy. Simply cook your favourite pasta and combine it with the sauce.

My very fussy kids love it.

    Have ordered it many times.
