Braised beef in Guinness

A perfect marriage of diced beef, gently cooked with the iconic Irish stout and a base of winter veg till tender, thick and rich (the perfect spouse?). Dish up with a pile of buttered mash or a baked potato – or whip out a sheet of puff pastry and magic it into a glorious instant pie. Cold winter nights were made for gathering round hearty comfort food like this. 

To Serve

Serve with any sauce-loving carb, like buttered mash, a baked potato or warm bread – or keep things lighter with a cauliflower puree. To feed a crowd, defrost and pile into a pie dish, top with puff-pastry, glaze with eggwash or milk and bake at 200C till puffed and golden.

Pierce the film several times. Defrosted: microwave for 6 minutes or until piping hot. Stir and rest for 30 seconds before serving. Frozen: microwave for 6 minutes, stir and heat for a further 4 minutes or until piping hot. Rest for 30 seconds before serving.

    So delicious
