I don't know when we were last so excited about a dish.  Even the most hardened of green smoothie sceptics at the Dinner Ladies was won over by this perfectly balanced blend of fruit and vegetables. It has enough spinach in to be a vibrant green but the banana and mango lend enough sweetness to make it a total pleasure to drink. Mint, lemon and ginger keep it lively while flaxseeds pack a nutritional punch. We layer the fruit and veg up in a stand up pouch, which looks pretty cool, ready for you to add whatever liquid you like before blitzing.

makes about 800ml - enough for two to three smoothies.

Frozen product.

Allow to defrost overnight in the fridge or at room temperature for an hour. You can blitz straight from frozen for a slushy but it can punish your motor.

Tip fruit and vegetables straight into the large container of a bullet blender - give the pouch a whack first to loosen them. Add approximately 400ml liquid of choice - we love coconut water but you could use nut or other milk or whatever else your heart desires - and blitz till completely smooth and uniformly bright green.

Serve immediately.
