Bake-at-home apple crumble cake
We knew this would find a place in your hearts - and it sure did. It's delicious, simple, honest and homely - in short, it's damn near irresistible. The cake is a mix of apples, cinnamon, ground almonds, flour, eggs and yoghurt, with cinnamon and lemon zest. We dish up the cake mix in a foil tray and top it with a crumble of melted butter, sugar, ground almonds, flour and a hint of cinnamon - ready for the oven so you can fill the house with toasty wafts of crumbly goodness.
Frozen product. Cook from frozen or defrost in refrigerator. Once defrosted, cook within 24 hours.This is a raw mix and should be fully cooked before consumption. Although this frozen product has been stored in the freezer, it never freezes solidly.
Preheat the oven (FF) to 180C.Remove plastic film.
DEFROSTED: bake for 45 minutes, cover with foil if the top is getting too brown.
FROZEN: bake for 55 minutes, cover with foil if the top is getting too brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or custard.
