30. Edible gold stars
Christmas is a time when normal rules of tasteful understatement can be swept aside by a tide of sparkle. In the past we have used edible gold leaf which is possibly the most irritating material ever invented to work with so we've sourced instead some delightful and well-behaved little edible stars. Sprinkle them with abandon – but only just before serving or they will lose their lustre and with it, their reason for being.
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, propylene glycol, mica-based pigment, yellow (5), red (40), yellow (6), blue (1).
